Hand Held Data Collectors

Foremost, remember that your hand held is a computer and being so is much more complicated and sensitive than a calculator

Hand helds can cost into the thousands of dollars and should be treated accordingly

By taking proper care in the usage, storage and charging of your unit - you ensure a long, trouble free life span

Charging your hand held's batteries may seem trivial but you should note certain guidelines:
  • Before charging your unit, please ensure you have rechargeable batteries in the unit (not alkaline)
  • Charging alkaline batteries can cause the batteries to explode and melt the circuit boards in the unit. This of course is NOT covered by maintenance!
  • Charging time for a unit should be 10-12 hours. Rechargeable batteries have a charge memory, in that they will actually lose their ability to hold a charge properly if over charged
To clean the exterior of your unit
  • Wipe the exterior with a soft, clean cloth, dampened with alcohol
  • Never try to clean the interior of the unit ( send it in for cleaning)
Never try to open and make any repairs on your unit
  • Any type of repair (cosmetic or hardware) work for your unit should be performed by our technicians.
  • It is very possible that our technicians can resolve your problem over the phone, however, if not then we will issue you an RA # for sending the unit in for service
  • Always call and obtain an RA# (return authorization number) before sending your unit in for service
